Game review by Greg Grimsley

The Towson Tigers went to the Naval Academy to come up with a 27-0 loss. The day started with a surprise announcement from Towson University closing the field due to “unstable conditions.” Both teams were very eager to play and the game was rescheduled to play away @ Navy with a 6 o’clock start time. Despite the new game time, Towson lost home field advantage and many fans that looked forward to seeing the game at Towson University.

The game started with very aggressive play by both sides. Navy’s first try came after not kicking for points in front of the posts caused by a penalty by Towson. Various phases of pounding the ball in with the forwards saw Navy to dot the ball down for the first try of the game. Navy would score one more try in the half while the Tigers would go with out any points, despite several close attempts to put up points. Halftime score was Towson 0, Navy 12.

The second half proved to fair worse for the Towson Tigers as they lost some composure and allowed Navy to put up 3 more tries for 15 points. The Tigers were held scoreless. Final score: Towson 0, Navy 27.

Towson’s B-side suffered its first loss of the season losing 15-0.
